Grand Prix of Monaco Since 1929

Monte Carlo’s Grand Prix began as an idea to hold a world-wide event in an area the size of Vatican City. With a circuit measuring 3,367km the track involves 78 turns with the world’s top automobiles reaching above average speeds of 80km/ph or more. It is one of the slower tracks due to the complexity of the turns, and for that reason, viewed as the most dangerous.

With only 16 competitors, the race is regarded as the most prestigious F1 race in the world, and attracts the glitterati crowd to go with it. The population of Monte Carlo town centre almost doubles during the event. The small town’s size makes it a very attractive destination, as everything is within walking distance, and you can even spot the driver’s returning to their apartments, within minutes of racing.

The last three years have been dominated by the Red Bull Renaut team and Australian driver Mark Webber (winner 2010 and 2012).
